Deutsche Welle (DW), Germany’s international broadcaster, has launched a dedicated Bengali-language TikTok channel for audiences in Bangladesh, expanding its digital presence on a platform particularly popular among younger users.

The new channel will publish short, accessible and fact-checked content on domestic, regional and international developments. The content will be presented in Bengali and tailored for social media audiences.

DW said the channel will place particular emphasis on engaging younger users and women in Bangladesh. Alongside adapting selected existing content, the broadcaster will develop dedicated formats focusing on topics and perspectives relevant to their lives and interests.

DW operates under the Deutsche Welle Act, which safeguards its journalistic and editorial independence. The broadcaster says its journalism is guided by accuracy, impartiality and diversity of perspectives.

A launch event for the Bengali-language TikTok channel is being held on 30 September 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Tawfiq Azim Seminar Hall of The Daily Star in Dhaka.
